Making Batch Movie Outputs Using dpsVelocity
by Bob Bolson
Often times, the actual editing of your project is only half the battle. There's still the process of outputting the finished edit.

Today, more and more, it's not an output to Betacam that clients are after, but rather, an output to one of several popular web media formats. That could be Windows Media, AVI, Real Media, Quicktime, or MPEG. Whatever your clients want, dpsVelocity has you covered. In fact, now you can learn how to output all of these formats in one step, with just a couple clicks of the mouse.

Let's assume that you have your media arranged on the timeline the way you want it to be output.

First, drag your MOVIE BAR to cover the start and end points you desire, then hit the MAKE MOVIE button.

In the lower right hand corner of the Make Movie dialog box, there is a checkbox labeled "Batch Mode". Check this box.

Now, the dialog box will expand. In the top center of the box, there is a dropdown labeled "Output Type". Select the first type of output you'd like to create. In our case, we'll choose an AVI output.
