![]() Final Cut Pro Quick Tip #13 Page 3 of 3 Still think this is a square v. non-square issue between programs? Try this to prove to yourself that Final Cut Pro is only setting regions based on a percentage of the Canvas viewing area. In Final Cut Pro create a Rectangular Shape and resize it so the top of the rectangle touches the top of the Title Safe region.[an error occurred while processing this directive] ![]() Now change the viewing area for the Canvas Window so it displays the contents as non-square. Oops, now your rectangle doesn’t stay within the boundary of the Title Safe area. ![]() Does this mean that the rectangle is not title safe anymore? No, just that the boundary markers created by Final Cut Pro are somewhat flawed. How can you ensure that titles and graphics created in Final Cut Pro or other graphics applications will display correctly? You probably already know the answer to this one... make sure you are always viewing your project on an NTSC or PAL monitor connected to your system. Even though Final Cut Pro may seem to have issues when it comes to how it displays Action and Title Safe regions, it is not a major concern, as no one can agree what those regions should be. Just keep in mind that if you are inside the Title Safe region you are okay, if the elements fall slightly outside of Title Safe you are okay, but if the elements fall outside the Action Safe, you are in trouble.
