![]() NAB Diary: Super Tuesday Page 5 of 5 My final meeting of the day was with Red Giant Software, the new distributors of Knoll Light Factory (now updated for 16-bit), Image lounge, Primatte, and the Composite Suite line of products that were over at Pinnacle systems. Red Giant is currently looking at updating some of these applications (Light Factory has already been updated to version 2). I for one am waiting to see what they do with these apps, as there is still a huge user base in the industry. Red Giant also distributes Magic Bullet Suite. If you are not familiar with this plug-in for After Effects then you must be living under a rock somewhere on another planet. Basically, Magic Bullet Suite is one of those plug-ins that makes your 30i video look like it was shot at 24p. The best part of this collection of plug-ins is the Look Suite plug-in, which simulates the look of different types of film. I have a review of this software coming next week, so look for a complete description then. In the meantime Red Giant informs me that the 1.2 version of the software is about to be released that renders at twice the speed of the current version. The version will be a free upgrade. In addition, there have been so many requests to Red Giant for a “film-grain” noise filter that they company will be throwing one of those in for free.[an error occurred while processing this directive]I asked if the Look Suite would be ported to other applications (Final Cut Pro, Premiere, etc.). I was then shown a demo of a stand-alone version of Look Suite that was working in Premiere. If Apple ever gets their stuff in order and actually begin developing following the current AE plug-in architecture, the plug-in would work for Final Cut Pro as well.
