Final Cut Pro Quick Tip #25

Even though SoundTrack can now reference your Additional Loop directory, it doesn’t know what files are there until you click on the Index Now button. Depending on how many files are in the directory, it could take a great deal of time to complete the indexing.

[an error occurred while processing this directive]Be aware that if you add additional loops to this directory in the future, you will need to re-index the directory.

Once indexed, the loops are now searchable in the Media Browser. For example, if I want to find a funky acoustic guitar I can go to Guitars in the Keywords column, then type funky in the Refine Search area.

You will notice that under the Matches>Acoustics column, there are three matches, and one of them is called Funky Funk 1.wav. This just so happens to be one of my Acid Loops. Pretty cool huh?
