Well, not quite. Because of all the additional information imbedded in the audio file, some of the searches may not work with your additional loops. For example, when you view the Media Browser as columns (or buttons, either will work), the “bari dity.wav” file (a saxophone loop) shows up under the Instruments dropdown. However, if you go to the Genres, you will not be able to find the loop.

However, because of the extra data that is embedded in certain files, you will not be able to find your additional loops by using the Genres dropdow.


Ok, so indexing and searching for files is pretty useful. If you don’t like to search for a particular instrument or loop over and over again, you can also save files, folders, and directories as favorites.

From the File Browser Tab in the Media Manager, navigate to the directory that contains your Additional Loops. Control+Click or Right Click (for those of you who are using a two button mouse), and select Add to Favorites.



Now anytime you want access any favorite, you simply go to the Favorites Tab and navigate your way to loop nirvana.



With the large number of loop files available you should have a near infinite library to choose from when you are creating your next musical composition for your Final Cut Pro 4.0 sequence.

Since it is part of Final Cut Pro 4.0 (like LiveType), often I’ll drop in a few tips on how to get the most out of these programs as well.
